What are Quality Cultures?
A quality culture is one that is the pure culture with no contamination and is the specific breed or strain that it claims to be, ready to colonize grain, a petri dish or be placed on glass sides for morphological study.
Going further, it is one with well suspended spores or densely populated with mycelium grown in a proper liquid culture media: one that has been supplemented with peptone or other protein source and hasn't been over heated yielding caramelization that can slow mycelial growth.
